December 20, 2015: A Cellar Showing

A Cellar Showing of the 1970 Morrison Sparkling piece, featuring the collaborative artwork created by Remnant core artists; Ellen Avery, Katie Chown, & Julie Valenzuela and collaborators Anna-Kat, Jo Darvall, Digby Hill, Jacqui Otago, Scott Putman, Caroline Stevenson, & Joanna Tan.

The showing at Young George started with canapés and a glass of the Cape Mentelle Sauvigon Blanc as guests mingled with artists and enjoyed the visual artworks by W.A. artist Jo Darvall. Later in the evening a tasting of sparking wine was poured, and the dancers moved into the space to perform a segment of Putman's choreography, accompanied by live musicians Anna-Kat, Digby Hill, & Julie Valenzuela, performing their original composition. After the dance there was an artist statement session, where ideas and background stories were shared by the artists, followed by audience Q&A.

This piece in its entirety will be a part of the 'winery psalms' production, presented by Remnant Dance, hosted by Fillaudeau's Restaurant and featuring wines by Pinelli Estate 15-21 April 2016, in the Swan Valley, Western Australia.
