Meeting Places

MEETING PLACES is a multi-arts performance experience featuring the Remnant Dance contemporary film of the same name, a body of visual art pieces and original contemporary dance works.  Following the successful international premiere of this inter-disciplinary performance work in Myanmar (Burma) in April 2014, the work premiered in Australia as part of the Fremantle Festival, November 2014.

Particular thanks to our partners:

MyKids Australia & Myanmar Vision International (MVI) are humanitarian aid organisations that aim to address issues of poverty in Myanmar by providing health and education initiatives to assist children as they grow.  MyKids and MVI worked in partnership with Remnant Dance to facilitate the creation of the Meeting Places dance film as part of a larger cross-cultural and creative conversation.  Edith Cowan University supports Remnant Dance artists through the supervision of research by PhD candidate Lucinda Coleman which has offered stringent ethical accountability for the Meeting Places project, contextualising research into dance-making within an academic frame.
